I really love Tatar cuisine! She herself is a landmark of the city. We share with you cafes, canteens and restaurants where you can have an inexpensive and tasty meal in Kazan. Go to one of them and be sure to try gubadia and manty.

Canteens

In the center of Kazan, it is easy to find a place where you can eat tasty and inexpensive. We ate in several canteens and cafes - it was good everywhere.

"Kind dining room" - unassuming interior, but how cheap! We thought such prices did not exist anymore. You can have a hearty meal here from about 100 rubles per person! They have a website with prices and menus. We checked - it's really cheap and tasty there! One of the establishments is located at st. Bauman, 21, 2nd floor. Opening hours: 7:30 am to 9:00 pm (weekends from 9 am). At lunch and dinner, there are so many people who want to eat that the line falls out on the stairs, so come at other hours or go to a less popular dining room - there are several of them in the city.

Cafe "House of Tea" ("Chuy Yorty") - one of the cheapest, delicious and truly legendary places in the city where you can get acquainted with Tatar cuisine. It would be more correct to call it a dining room, judging by the interior and the average bill of 200 rubles. "House of Tea" has established itself since Soviet times and is very popular both among tourists and residents of Kazan. We love this place very much! We advise you to try gubadia, kystyby, manti and meat with cranberry sauce there - we liked it. Address: st. Bauman, 64. Opening hours: from 9:00 to 20:00, on Sundays - until 18:00. Just don't come during rush hours to avoid queuing.

"Navruz" - another inexpensive dining room, however, it is located not in the center, but near the North Station. Tasty, varied menu, low prices. Decembrists, 205.

Discount on excursions in Kazan... When traveling, we buy excursions on the Tripster website - there is a huge selection and real reviews of tourists, so it's easy to choose a good guide and an interesting program. In addition, you will receive a 500 RUB discount on your first excursion by registering using this link.

Guide map... For your convenience, we have made an author's guide to Kazan in the form of an offline map for smartphones. Download our guide if you need to have all the marks and descriptions of Kazan sights at hand, but there is no time and desire to manually copy this information. This convenience will cost you 200 ₽.

In the "House of Tea" we eat hearty meals for about 400-500 rubles for two.

Cafe

You can eat tasty and inexpensive dishes of national cuisine (and not only) in Kazan in a cafe. We have selected several, the average check of which is - 400-500 rubles.

"Chuck-Chuck" - located in the center of the city. There is Tatar and European cuisine. Bauman, 7/10. Opening hours: from 9:00 to 21:00.

"Bilyar" - a network of restaurants and cafes of Tatar cuisine. According to tourists, it is here that you can try a real lamb salad and Kazan-style hodgepodge. The address of one of the institutions: st. Butlerova, 31. Opening hours: from 10:00 to 23:00.

Salt Bar Is a trendy place where mostly local patrons come. Nice interior and music, concerts are held. You can sit both inside and on the summer terrace. The menu, however, does not have national cuisine, but everything is very tasty. Complex breakfasts cost 250-280 rubles, lunches - 230-290 rubles. Complexes can be ordered at any time! We took a steak lunch and a beef lunch. Address: Profsoyuznaya, 22 (2 steps from Bauman). Opening hours: Mon - Thu from 11:00 to 3:00, on weekends - from 13:00 to morning. Check everything on their website. The downside of this place is that reviews complain about random face control with watchman's syndrome, but this only applies to parties.

Choo doo - monocafe with exclusively Dagestan cuisine, exotic! This is if you are suddenly tired of Tatar dishes, want to try something unusual or, like us, love Caucasian cuisine. A pleasant minimalist interior with traditional touches like rugs and sofa covers. The menu is simple, the prices are low. We ordered khinkal, kurze with potatoes and lemonade - it came out 450 rubles for two. Address: Pushkin, 29/4, common entrance with Boroda Bar. Opening hours: from 9:00 to 22:00.

"Foshnaya" - tiny noodle with a Vietnamese chef for those who love Vietnamese cuisine. Here pho bo costs 250 rubles, a wok - 300 rubles, and Vietnamese coffee - 100 rubles. You can also buy Vietnamese goods here. Unfortunately, when we got there, food could only be taken out due to the pandemic, so we went elsewhere. Address: Profsoyuznaya, 26. Working hours: from 12:00 to 0:00.

Wok & go he helped us out when it turned out that we would not get to the Good Dining Room and the Tea House because of the huge queues. Here a wok costs about 150-200 rubles, profitable sets with drinks for 350-400 rubles. Address: Astronomical, 13/30. Very close to Bauman!

"Gallery of cuisines of the peoples of the world" - a complex of four zones. The cuisine is different, as the name suggests. Butlerov, 43.

Govinda's - vegetarian menu, as well as handmade sweets combined with ginger tea. Delicious and high quality food. Chistopolskaya, 79. Opening hours: from 12:00 to 20:00.

In the bar "Salt" you can not only drink a beer or cocktail, but also have a delicious meal. Two set meals cost about 600 rubles.

Choo Doo - a mono-cafe with exclusively Dagestan cuisine, exotic! We advise you to stop by if you want to try something new or like Caucasian cuisine.

Restaurants

Kazan is full of restaurants where you can eat ethnic Tatar cuisine in a more luxurious setting. We have selected the best with an average check 1000-1500 rubles.

"Dried apricots" - in this restaurant in the center of Kazan you can eat dishes of Uzbek, European and Russian cuisine. Cozy and tasty. Our friends had dinner here. They said it was a little expensive, but worth it! Address: st. Bauman, 36. Opening hours: from 12:00 to 00:00, Fri-Sat - until 6:00.

"Marusovka" - a restaurant with a cozy summer veranda. Located in the House of the Actor. In the 1880s, Marusovka was called a residential complex where noisy parties were held, and Maxim Gorky called it "a strange and cheerful slum." Now you can try quinoa with sun-dried tomatoes, risotto with porcini mushrooms and a tenderloin of a young goby overlooking the Lyadsky Garden. Address: Shchapova, 37.

"Sultanate" - two-storey eastern palace for 800 seats. The menu, about 30 pages thick, contains dishes of not only Tatar, but also Azerbaijani, Uzbek and Russian cuisine. N. Nazarbayev, 35/98. Works around the clock.

"Shelter bachelor" - is considered one of the most popular restaurants in the city. Most of all, visitors like European and Japanese cuisine. Chernyshevsky, 27a. Opening hours: from 11:00 to 00:00 (on Saturdays - until 2 am).

Have a quick bite

  • "Zhar-Svezhar" - a good bakery with a wide range of products. They took gubad there, good. There is a delivery.
  • "Tyubetey" - a chain of fast food restaurants recommended by our VKontakte subscribers. There is a delivery.
  • "Gourmet" - a cafe-confectionery where they sell pastries, buns, chak-chak and cakes. It is possible to order. The prices are fabulous! Address: Karl Marx, 50/8.

Great coffee

It is excellent, and not from a machine! If, like us, you like to savor real freshly brewed coffee from Kenya, Papua or Burundi, and not coffee booze, then you are in luck - Kazan baristas know a lot about their business. There are many good places with their own or guest roasting: "Oil", "Caffeine", Skuratov Coffee, Divan Coffee, "Houdini", Surf Coffee, Pesky (coffee is brewed in cezv on the sand).

Food delivery

When we were too lazy to go somewhere in the evening, we ordered at home in Yandex.Eda. Impressed rolls Yokoso - amazingly tasty and hearty sets at affordable prices (from 555 to 1200 rubles). Website: yokoso.su.

Delivery from "Behetle" I didn't like it: mediocre pilaf, unremarkable kystyby and absolutely tasteless hodgepodge, besides, everything was brought cold. But the gubadia was excellent. We came to the conclusion that it is better to buy desserts and pastries there. Tourists praise him for chak-chak.

We believe that visiting Kazan and not trying at least some of the national dishes is akin to a crime. Tatar cuisine is very, very tasty and satisfying! In addition, you can have a quick, inexpensive and tasty snack with pastries while walking around Kazan.

Buy chak-chak, talkysh-kaleve and all sorts of lukums and sherbets in "Behetle", "Pokrovskie bakeries" and the "Katyk" culinary network.
