How to check if a hotel is open in Turkey in 2021? Which hotels have received health certificates and are ready to receive tourists? I tell you from personal experience.
We decided in this off-season, after all, to go on tour to Turkey. Preparation went a little more difficult than usual - if only because I had to study, and what hotels are open in Turkey now?
I spent the night looking for up-to-date information - but I found official resources and understood the easiest way to “identify” open hotels in Turkey (no, not to write to them by e-mail). I share what I found with you, and may we all have time to spend a great vacation on the Turkish coast!
What hotels are open in Turkey now?
According to official sources, more than 2,500 hotels are now open in Turkey, of which about 1,000 are in the resorts of Antalya and the Aegean Sea. The rest are in Ankara, Istanbul and provincial cities. The pandemic and quarantine in Turkey has significantly "thinned" the hotel business.
1. HOW TO FIND OUT WHICH HOTELS HAVE OPENED IN TURKEY?
Really simple, this business does not require shoveling the entire Internet.
Go to any of the tour aggregators - they show tours only to open hotels:
- Travelata
- Level.Travel
- Onlinetours
Aggregators are connected to the bases of all major Russian tour operators. Accordingly, with which hotels cooperation is resumed, those are displayed on the services. Immediately - prices for tours directly from the tour operator (without extra charges) and fresh reviews of tourists.
This is a 100% working version of the search for open hotels for vacations with a planning horizon of 1-2 months or right tomorrow. If you are looking for a specific hotel on the aggregator, but there are no tours there, or it cannot find the name at all, then the hotel is closed (but be sure to check at each service).
I myself appreciated the convenience of these three sites for a long time. And this is not only "Everything is online" - the issue of going to the office has not been worth the last three years, I book and buy tours on aggregators, - but also "all in one place"... Here is a personal example: the tour operator Tui would not have found my hotel, and I would have been recklessly upset that it is closed - but it turns out that the company simply stopped working with him. The aggregator vividly showed that the hotel is working and selected the best price for my dates. As a result, a tour in Side for September was bought (this time I chose Online Tours).
2. HOW TO UNDERSTAND WHICH HOTELS IN TURKEY HAVE PASSED CERTIFICATION?
For this, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey has made a separate page on its website. In the search form in the "Name of facility" section, enter the name of the hotel in English (it is possible not completely, the search also works for one word) and click "Search" - if the document is received, "Certificate Given" will be green in front of the hotel. If the hotel is not on the site, then it does not have a health certificate either.
There are dates of opening of hotels in Turkey, and there are dates of issuance of certificates. The fact is that Turkey obliges open hotels to receive a document within 7 days from the date of commencement of work. In this case, opposite the name will be the mark “Certification Process”.

Rules for entry to Turkey and return to Russia
In a week, I myself will have to go through all the entry-exit procedures - which I will definitely tell you about in this section - but for now, here are the main well-known points:
* update: I have already rested and went through the departure-arrival. I will make notes in italics that did not match.
- So far, tours to Turkey are available for 6 cities of the Russian Federation: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Rostov-on-Don, Kazan, Kaliningrad and Novosibirsk.
- A virus test is NOT required to enter Turkey.
- Attention! On charters and regular flights, backpacks are NOT allowed in carry-on baggage - these are the precautions. At the check-in desk you will be asked to check them in your baggage (free of charge). You can only take a handbag, purse, laptop case with you on board. But this is not entirely true. Our charter Azur Air was allowed with both backpacks and bulk bags.
- Also, they do not feed during the flight, they can give out water or tea.
- On the plane to Turkey, you need to fill out a questionnaire, which indicates the flight, seat number, date of arrival (take a pen with you).
- Upon arrival, they measure the temperature with a thermal imager, masks are required.
On the way back to Russia:
- Before departure back or already at home, you must fill out the form "Providing information about the test results ... for those arriving in the territory of the Russian Federation" on the State Services.
- On the plane, you must fill out a paper form for those arriving in the Russian Federation - with your data, registration address and address of stay for the next 14 days.
- After landing, the entire plane is waiting for a person who will measure the temperature of each with an infrared thermometer, take the completed questionnaire and give instructions on further actions. This is no longer the case. The plane landed - everyone got out without delay.
- 14-day isolation is NOT required, but within 3 days you must have time to pass the coronavirus test and upload the results to State Services.
To clarify: from September 24, the test result must be awaited in isolation at home. It will be less problematic to take the express test right at the airport - it is available at all Moscow airports, it costs 2,750 rubles, the results will be sent in 1 hour or 3 hours by mail (I did so).
Hotels in Turkey after the coronavirus - what has changed?
Requirements to keep a distance of 1.5 meters / And this is what a hotel health certificate looks like
Of course, the hotels that have opened in Turkey after the quarantine are required to comply with certain security measures. After the pandemic, out of the number approaching 10 thousand, only 2,500 hotels decided to resume work.
What is the health certificate that hotels receive?
In fact, this is a document that binds and confirms that the hotel complies with the established safety standards:
- Monitors and creates conditions for maintaining social distance between guests.
- Frequently and thoroughly disinfects everything that is shared.
- Checks employees daily for suspicious symptoms.
- Provides personnel with personal protective equipment.
What are they, hotels in Turkey after the quarantine?
The most striking difference from the previous Turkey - in the buffet... It is now not Swedish-public, but "hand-out".An employee (or several) is attached to each food station, putting on your plate whatever you point your finger at, in whatever quantity you want. The food is behind the glass, and only the employee touches it. In a sense, this is even a plus - you don't have to worry that someone brazenly touched this peach with his hands and, not satisfied with its perfection, threw it back into the vase.
Forks, spoons, knives, as a rule, are removed from the common areas, they are placed in individual packages immediately on the table. The same is with the glass plates. Antiseptics are everywhere.
The staff wear masks and gloves. And the tourists? It depends on where what requirements. Mask may be required at the reception, in the lobby, in the restaurant (yes, walking to the table wearing a mask - and then taking it off). Do not insist on using personal protective equipment on the beach and by the pool.
For clarity of the above, you can watch our video about the changes in Turkey. This, of course, is not me, but my boyfriend - but he is also nothing (and tells well) 🙂
Pools, fitness rooms, spas and water slides most hotels are open... Before entering - a mandatory temperature measurement.
Animation also adapted to the new reality. Some hotels have abandoned it altogether, others organize dance performances, fire shows, live music concerts, but not massive discos. Sports animation - yoga, aerobics in the pool - is still carried out, but the participants are kept at a distance. There are many closed play areas (billiard rooms, table tennis).
Reviews of tourists about the rest in Turkey after the quarantine
Updating information: here is my review of a recent trip to Side. I tried to tell you in an interesting way, with useful things and photos.
For Russians, the opening of Turkey in 2020 took place in August - and the piggy bank of fresh reviews has already been replenished. Having run through the responses, having listened to friends and acquaintances who flew away to All Inclusive on August 1 through Istanbul, I have highlighted the following.
How to get to Turkey now?
There are two options: on tour and on your own. Tours are sold with departure from 6 cities of Russia, choose the one that suits you on:
- Level.Travel
- Onlinetours
- Travelata
Regular direct flights are carried out from the same cities - Turkish Airlines, Pobeda and others fly. For example, on Aviasales air tickets from Moscow cost from 10,000 rubles per person round trip.
What about the situation?
Turkey and open hotels have changed little globally - only certain restrictions have been introduced (as described in the section above). But they also cause different reactions among vacationers.
For example, someone is dissatisfied with the new food distribution system. Like, "You stand in line for the distribution, walk from station to station with an outstretched hand, you wait everything, all tired, dissatisfied, rest down the drain".
Others will argue "You need to choose a hotel more carefully, we don't have this in the top five"... Well, or in a timely manner "Report the inconvenience to the managers, ask to increase the number of employees on the issue".
In terms of food, they also note that some hotels have removed flat cakes (gözleme) and ice cream by weight (replaced with individual ones in a package). Particularly suspicious tourists meticulously compare last year's assortment of buffets with the current one and conclude that "It got poorer"... But again, it all depends on the hotel.
Someone is "jarred" by contradictions in security measures: masks are required (by the way, take them too, some hotels "Are not obliged to supply tourists with blueberries"), the sunbeds were placed one and a half meters, and "The bus to the beach is packed full".
But everyone agrees that the main goal of rest is the sun and the sea, and they are unchanged in Turkey!
But there are also new hotels in Turkey, opened in 2020. Yes, not the best season to start, but who knew? Read about fresh and just refurbished in our separate article! |
