History of the Massandra Palace
In the 1880s, the building began to be built for Count S. M. Vorontsov. A few years later, the unfinished palace was bought by the Russian Tsar Alexander III. The construction was completed only in 1902, and Nicholas II became its owner. True, the emperor did not really like Massandra, but preferred to rest in the Livadia Palace.
After the revolution, the palace turned into a tuberculosis sanatorium, and later the institute of viticulture was located within its walls. For 40 years, there was a state dacha for high-ranking party officials. Only in 1992, the park and palace were opened to tourists.
Exhibitions in the building of the Massandra Palace allow you to learn a lot of interesting things about the life of the imperial family. The Crimean castle is not like the magnificent royal chambers in St. Petersburg. The interiors are decorated in the tradition of medieval Romanesque architecture. You will see antique furniture, stucco moldings, wall paintings, paintings in expensive frames, filigree wood carvings and exquisite porcelain vases.
Palace park appeared 80 years earlier than the building. It was laid by the famous gardener and author of the Alupka Park Karl Kebakh. In the green area there are many old trees, well-groomed flower beds, and medicinal plants and roses are planted near the palace. Walk along shady park paths and admire the sculptures and fountains!

Working hours
The palace and park are open to visitors seven days a week:
- from 9:00 to 17:00 - from January to March and in November
- from 9:00 to 18:00 - in April-June and from September 15 to the end of October
- from 8:00 to 19:00 - from July 1 to September 14.
All year round on Saturdays from 8:00 to 20:00.

Ticket price to Massandra Palace
A visit to the main expositions (1st and 2nd floors) costs 400 rubles. Exhibition on the 3rd floor - 100 rubles. A tour of the palace territory is also 100. So it is more profitable to buy a single ticket for 450 rubles.
How to get to the Massandra Palace
The attraction is located 9 km northeast of the center of Yalta, on Simferopol highway, 13. By car you can reach it in just half an hour.
If you want to use public transport, take minibus no. 29 or trolleybus no. 2. From the stop "Massandra Palace" 15 minutes walk along an asphalt road.
